MURATEC-USA UNVEILS FASTEST-EVER TWIN SPINDLE AUTOMATION AT IMTS 2018

Charlotte, NC – August 13, 2018: Murata Machinery, USA will introduce the MW120II turning center, a new and improved version of the industry-leading MW120 machine with faster-than-ever automation. The MW120II features a high-speed, lightweight gantry loader that offers significantly increased rapid traverse speeds in the X, Y, and Z axes. With this newly designed high-speed gantry loader, traverse speeds 1.5 times those of the traditional gantry loader can be achieved. In addition to the new high-speed gantry loader, the MW120II boasts significant improvements to machine idle time areas as compared to the traditional machine. Overall idle time reductions related to turret clamp/unclamp, chuck clamp/unclamp, and higher speed shutter doors have resulted in load/unload time reductions more than 3 seconds per part. Like all other Muratec machines, the flexible automation allows for multiple machines to be combined into a single production cell, utilizing common transfer, turnaround, and feeding units to service the machines and provide an efficient production solution.
